I am a petite, full-busted gal who’s been wearing the Enell sports bra for the past 3 years so I could run comfortably without experiencing breast pain. And for the longest time, Enell was the only sports bra that worked for me — until I came across the Freya Active Underwire sports bra. I couldn’t believe it! I love the Freya bra and prefer it over the Enell for many reasons:*The Freya bra encapsulates each breast, so there’s no uniboob. The Enell mashes the breasts together.*The Freya is more effective in minimizing the pressure from bouncing. With the Enell, both boobs bounce as a whole so the pressure against the chest is greater.*The Freya is easier to put on; there are 3-4 hooks, depending on the cup size. The Enell has 10+ hooks that you have to clasp at the front of the bra.*The Freya has 4 rows of hooks, so if your bra band stretches, you can tighten the bra up to 2 inches from it’s starting condition. When the Enell band stretches so it’s no longer snug and shifts when you move, you’ll need to buy a new bra.*The Freya wicks sweat more effectively because of the encapsulation style. When you unhook the Enell after intensive exercise, the breasts are still drenched in sweat. The bra comes in a variety of sizes (28-38, D-H) — and currently, 5 color options, so you’re bound to find the right fit as long as you’re patient and willing to experiment different band size and cup size combinations that aren’t your “normal” bra size. Getting a proper bra fitting is only the starting point and the numbers are meant to serve as a “guideline” for bra shopping, as there isn’t a standardized or universal bra system used by all manufacturers. There’s no true-to-size when it comes to bra fitting. Two bras by the same brand, of the same style, color, band size, and cup size may fit differently on a person. If you’re able to try these bras on in multiple sizes at a retail store, I highly recommend doing so, and if you are able to find the one with the “perfect fit,” I recommend purchasing it — even at full price. That’s what I did. I tried on 4 different cup sizes at my local Nordstrom’s and selected the band size and cup size that felt “right” on me. I tested the bra on a 2.5 mile run and felt comfortable and highly supported throught my run, barely feeling any bkunce. It’s so hard to find an adequate high impact sports bra for busts E cup and larger, so if you come across one that fits well, don’t gamble on your chances. If you have a lot of leeway, you can order the bra in multiple band/cup combinations to test and then return the ones that don’t fit you. For some people, that may involve a lot of money and time, but that’s one of the drawbacks of ordering online. Online retailers offer more discounts, but when people order a sports bra they’ve never tried on and order only one of them, they risk ordering the wrong size and being unhappy with the results.
